What is Laser Hair Removal (LHR)?
Laser Hair Removal is permanent hair reduction. There are thousands of follicles, some are dormant, some actively growing. Laser hair removal finds pigment of actively growing follicles and mechanically reduces their ability to grow back. Thinner, finer hair, reduced number of active follicles.
The industry standard is, to begin with, 6 sessions. This is for a variety of reasons including time commitment. Areas of the body do not grow the same type of hair (thin, thick, coarse, curly) and do not have the same growth cycles. Some people have fast growth cycles (3-4 weeks), some have slow growth cycles (8+ weeks). This is influenced by a number of factors such as genetics, ethnicity, hormones, medical conditions (PCOS) testosterone levels, area of the body (face hair vs. pubic hair) and these conditions change in people as they age (i.e. women lose estrogen and their testosterone increases in comparison, sprouting hew hairs sometimes in NEW places.
