Chemical Peels Treatment in Glastonbury, CT

Chemical Peels are used to improve the skin’s appearance, are common procedures and considered skin-resurfacing treatments.  In a chemical peel, a chemical solution is applied to your skin to remove the top layer of your skin. The skin that grows back after a chemical peel is smoother and younger-looking.

Chemical peels are used on your face to improve the texture and tone of the skin by helping to get rid of wrinkles, scars, and other skin damage. Some chemical peels can also be used to improve the skin on your neck and hands to take away the damage caused by sun exposure, acne, or aging that leaves your skin wrinkled, uneven, scarred, or spotted.

What happens with a chemical peel?

A solution of different chemicals is spread over your skin. The chemical mixture causes your skin to peel off. It sounds scary, but once the new skin grows back, the new skin is smoother and less wrinkled than your old skin.

There are three different levels of chemical peels

Light Chemical Peel

Request from your medspa a light chemical peel, or a superficial chemical peel to remove the outer layer of your skin or the epidermis. It is used to treat fine wrinkles, acne, uneven skin tone and dryness. You can get a light chemical peel as often as every two to five weeks. It all depends on you and what you want.

Medium Chemical Peel

A medium chemical peel removes the skin cells from your epidermis and parts of the middle layer of your skin or the dermis. Medium chemical peels treat wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven skin tones. You can repeat a medium chemical peel after three to nine months to help you maintain your youthful-looking skin.

Deep Chemical Peel

A deep chemical peel removes the skin cells from your epidermis, and portions of the mid to lower layers of your dermis. If you have deep wrinkles, deep scars, or pre-cancerous growths, a deep chemical peel can be recommended. You can only get a deep chemical peel one time.
