Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy is used to help reduce skin issues like stretch marks, skin issues,  and wrinkles. Red light therapy is also used in medical offices to treat conditions like psoriasis, slow-healing wounds, and the side effects of chemotherapy.

RLT works by producing a biochemical effect in cells. The red light effect strengthens the mitochondria or the powerhouses of cells where the cell’s energy is created. The mitochondria also store calcium, generate heat and mediate cell growth to improve your skin’s healing powers.

RLT is not laser or intense pulsed light. It directly stimulates regeneration of the skin, and the emitted RLT enters about 5 millimeters below the skin’s surface. Red Light Therapy promotes and improves:

  • Hair growth in people with androgenic alopecia
  • The look of scars including acne scars
  • Improve skin complexions
  • Builds collagen to diminish wrinkles
  • Helps mend sun damage

Red light therapy is administered as a professional skincare procedure in medspas, where tanning-like beds are equipped with therapeutic grade red lights to treat skin issues. RLT does help with several conditions:

  • Actives the lymphatic system to detoxify the body
  • Boosts the immune system
  • Reduces cellulite
  • Aids in weight loss
  • Cures acne

There is no itching, burning sensations, pain, or stinging with RLT, and there are little to no other side effects. Red light therapy is safe and painless.
