What is IPL?
IPL treats different types of pigmentation on the face and body by sending light energy into the skin through specific nanometers that are customized by the type of pigmentation you have. Specific light energy is attracted to the melanin or pigment in your skin and works by breaking it up and leaving the surrounding tissues intact. The body digests the pigmentation that has been damaged and leaves the skin clearer and even.
IPL is a bit similar to laser treatment, but a laser focuses just one wavelength of light on your skin. IPL releases the light of many different wavelengths, similar to a photo flash. The light from an IPL device is scattered and less focused than a laser device, but IPL penetrates down to the second layer of your skin without harming the top layer. It causes less damage and possible burning to your skin that can be caused by laser treatment.
